Our stupidity today (2016)

Funny story today happened at the mosque after prayers.
An old man came to me telling me how important it is to do sunna prayers (extra prayers that aren't compulsory) and how important to cover the hair is for men when praying. And that the situation of the Muslims is bad because we stopped caring about such small issues. And he mentioned that this is also why muslims lost Spain.

The strange thing is that many muslims, especially elderly ones, believe this. This is the sad reality and reflects how shallow our thinking and depth of understanding of Islam is.
It was not easy to reply back to him. He was so convinced. The main point i wanted to give back to him is that it's fine if he believes this. I don't mind. But don't try to impose your view on others just because you are so convinced.

The problem is that there is a major issue that many of us are grossly ignorant of I believe. And this is that it's ok if other Muslims disagree with you. Others don't have to believe what you believe. They can still be Muslim and believe differently from you.
But we can't cope with this simple concept. We think we must know the truth and so whoever is differing with us must be very ignorant (an ego thing).
As a result the mutual brotherly respect goes and so many people end up fighting. At the end i called him a naughty man :-) .

The other issue is that he couldn't understand that people are free in Islam to believe what they want ( except for the very clear thing like belief in a creator, the book and the prophet etc). But he finds this difficult to comprehend. There is no freedom he thinks. You must believe what you are told.
How stupid we are we Muslims today.

Truly amazing.

The Muslim youth need to really start questioning everything and start from zero if they truly love Islam. This stupidity that has entered our minds needs to be erased and completely.

What is Religion and how is it meant to Operate ?

Religion first of all is about thinking and questioning why we are here on this planet and in this existence. Once we know why we can then choose to live in the appropriate way in accordance with those reasons. The word choose is important cos we have been given free choice (God has given us this). So we can choose not to if we like too. This search for truth starts with is there really a higher power that created us and everything? (The one we call God or Allah or Jehovah etc). If we find that there really is such a power then we can ask about it. What is its nature. Why has it sent our souls here, to this planet and put us in the bodies that we are in. What is the point? And more importantly has there been any communication from it. Depending on what we find we can then go on different routes.   First of all we need to have an idea of what all this is all about. This is my analysis so far:  The Basic Idea behind the plan : The Far right say UK is Christian country and we don’t want immigrants especially Muslims What we do is: Actually we are happy to help the uk people become more Christian and return to Christianity as they have moved away from it and towards materialism and loss of spirituality.
