English Language - Muslim Audience

In a saying attributed to the Prophet (and reported byQadi 'Iyad, in his Shifa, ch. 2) we see the conception of life envisaged by Islam, "'Ali asked the Prophet one day about the principles governing his general behaviour, and he replied, "Knowledge is my capital, Reason is the basis of my religion, Love is my foundation, Enthusiasm is my horse, Remembrance of God is my friend, Confidence is my treasure, Sorrow is my companion, Science is my weapon, Patience is my mantle, Contentment is my booty, Modesty is my pride, Renunciation of pleasure is my profession, Certitude is my food, Truth is my intercessor, Obedience is my sufficiency, Struggle is my manner and the delight of my heart is in the service of worship." What we need are Political Sufis i believe. Not scared to speak truth to power and at the same time aware of Allah and his love. Deep thinkers who can cut through the bull of normal conversation and show truth. But with mercy in their hearts. Balanced.

Bismillah The understanding of Islam we have today, very little good comes out of it. Because it's based on being stupid and not thinking. Not aware, just obedient to some sheikh. We think if we are part of the tradition then we are ok. But we become sheep that dont think, only. And those who react to it become nutters who want to commit evil in the name of Islam. The problem is the tradition itself has become poisoned. So much poison that you really need to make yourself stupid to adopt it. This is sad. True Islam and true Islamic tradition is based on thought and independent logic. But this has become a negative. When using your mind to think becomes a negative what do you imagine happens to a path? Gets filled with corruption and stupidity. This is our current understanding and tradition of Islam unfortunately. The original tradition we left behind. There you were judged according to how good your mind and thinking was. Now it's how good you are at NOT using your mind. ...

"Ok (person's name) this is what i have found so far in my journey on this planet and through my thinking: 1 - Why are we here? It's not to make money and own houses and flats. Because we leave this behind and others take them later on. We are here to find out why we are here. To go on a journey of discovery to search for truth. So that by the time we leave we have hopefully found it out and have become happy people ready for what is coming next. 2 - What does the creator want from us? It wants us to use our minds and find out about why we are here and why it created us.  That's why It keeps saying "do you not think" in the Quran. افلا تعقلون؟ 3 - So we are here to start a searching journey. To use our minds to find truth. We may not get there but we need to go on that journey i believe. 4 - How do we do that? By asking questions and trying to find answers to them.
